How does the Pitch Fest work?

Your Admission Badge includes access to both the Conference, and the Pitch Fest. The Pitch Fest is scheduled for the last two days of the conference (Saturday and Sunday). Participating literary agents will be holding sessions and taking pitches from writers.

Who are the participating literary agents?

All participating agents are listed in the conference page. You can also check out their full biographies. For details about each literary agent’s MSWL (manuscript wish list), please refer to their respective linked sites.

Is every participating literary agent taking pitches?

Yes! All participating literary agents will partake both in the conference sessions, and in the pitching sessions.

What do I need to prep for the Pitch Fest?

Each literary agent has specific requirements and guidelines about what they’re looking for in a project. Please familiarize yourself with all participating literary agents to determine which one is the right fit for you.

How many literary agents will I be able to pitch to?

You will be able to pitch your work to at least three literary agents.

Does that mean literary agents will offer representation?

No. Participation in the Pitch Fest does not guarantee an offer of representation from a literary agent or publisher. Each literary agent has specific MSWL; we encourage you to read their biographies, and familiarize yourself with their aesthetic before you decide which agent to pitch your work to.

Does Anaphora help match literary agents with conference participants?

Unfortunately Anaphora does not have the capacity to match conference participants with literary agents. However, we will hold Prep Sessions to help participants understand what to expect, and how to prepare for the conference, including the Pitch Session.

Do I need to pay an additional fee, or register separately to participate in the Pitch Fest?

There is no additional fee required; your Admission Badge will cover participation in the Pitch Fest. Sign ups with literary agents will go live before the conference. All conference participants will be notified via email.
